How to install favicons
- Upload the extracted files to a stable public directory, commonly the website root.
- Add the generated link elements inside the document head.
- Update the file paths if your CMS stores assets elsewhere.
- Clear page and browser caches after replacing an existing favicon.
- Test browser tabs, mobile bookmarks and your live page source.
Favicon design guidance
Start with a square source at 512×512 pixels or larger. Use enough empty space around the mark, avoid photographic detail, and check the smallest preview before downloading the package.
